The main purpose of the charity is to provide psychotherapy and counselling sessions, free of charge to adults, young people, children, and families.
Psychotherapy and counselling are ways of helping you identify, explore, and work through difficult experiences. Alongside psychotherapy and counselling, we provide a psychoeducation intervention. Psychoeducation consists of education and information, helping you begin to understand the causes and effects of how you are feeling. This can help you manage your situation better and begin making sense of your experience. Psychologically, it is healthy to acknowledge difficult feelings and to begin accepting them without fear. This will help you cope generally, feel less stressed or panicked, and stay connected, contributing to emotional well-being for you and your family.
Sessions are generally 50 minutes long and are carried out by an experienced, qualified, and registered psychotherapist who is supervised by an experienced, qualified, and registered supervisor. The therapist has undergone a thorough recruitment and induction process and has an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
Sessions can be for members of a family together or individually. They take place in the charity’s therapy room, located centrally in Petersfield, known by and already accessed by the community or via video call. There is no disabled access. For that reason, we can also offer sessions in a beneficiary’s home, local schools, or accessible rooms hired from other local organizations, if appropriate.
The psychotherapy and counselling are provided by an Integrative Psychotherapist. An Integrative Psychotherapist learns techniques from multiple therapeutic orientations to tailor therapy to the individual and achieve the most significant effects. These approaches may include Humanistic, Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Psychoanalysis, Existential, and CBT. Unlike single-school approaches, integrative therapy is not restricted to one methodology or school of thought. Instead, the therapist can draw on different techniques as needed to improve the efficacy and efficiency of treatment and adapt it to the specific needs of the individual.
We are contacted for a wide range of reasons, including:
We provide compassionate and professional mental health support by establishing a therapeutic relationship through psychotherapy, counselling, and psychoeducation. The goal is to improve emotional, psychological, and social well-being, which affects how you handle stress, relate to others, and make decisions. Talking about thoughts and feelings helps relieve distress and improve coping skills. Eventually, you will feel able to take charge of your own life and face challenges confidently.
Our work with you also involves improving mental health by exploring how you care for yourself. Self-care includes getting enough sleep, taking regular exercise, spending time outdoors, eating well, and connecting with others. It also involves practicing mindfulness. These areas are often neglected, and stress is frequently managed with unhealthy habits. Channelling your energy in healthy ways can significantly improve how you feel and manage daily life experiences.
So, what have you told us success looks like for you and your families:
Or, success can be seen in some of our, thank you messages from you……
